Refund and Warranty Policy

JH Prints — Terms, Refund and Warranty
Welcome to JH Prints. We are a dedicated, local 2-person 3D printing and custom design shop operating out of Tampa, Florida. We specialize in precision FDM printing, high-tier CAD modeling, and meticulous hand-finished post-processing. Because we focus on a cautious, "one-and-done" approach to manufacturing rather than operating an automated print farm, our policies are designed to honor premium craftsmanship while establishing clear expectations for our custom clients.
By placing an order, accepting a quote, or commissioning a digital design file with JH Prints, you explicitly agree to the following comprehensive terms, warranties, and return guidelines.

1. CAD, Design, & Consultation Fees
At JH Prints, our custom creation process begins long before a machine starts laying down plastic filaments. We offer professional computer-aided design (CAD) drafting, technical consulting, and digital optimization services to transform your rough sketches, physical dimensions, or conceptual descriptions into engineered 3D models.

  • Non-Refundable Labor: Any and all design fees charged for custom CAD drafting, modeling, prototyping layout, or engineering consultation services are 100% non-refundable.

  • Earned Time: These fees directly cover the physical labor, expertise, computing power, and dedicated engineering time spent by our design team mapping out your project.

  • File Ownership & Adjustments: Once design work has commenced, the consultation fee is considered fully earned, regardless of whether you decide to proceed with the physical printing phase or modify your initial project scope.

2. Cosplay Props & Artistic Commissions
We take immense pride in crafting display-grade items, wearable armor, and detailed cosplay gear. Unlike raw prints with rough textures, we pour extensive manual labor into post-processing—including multi-stage hand-sanding, precision filler application, and professional paint finishes.

  • The Finish Guarantee: We officially guarantee that your artistic commission or cosplay prop will be delivered completely smooth, free of raw layer lines, and beautifully finished exactly as discussed during our initial client consultation.

  • Custom Fitment Terms: If we custom-modeled a wearable prop or armor set to specific physical dimensions or measurements provided by you, and it fails to fit comfortably upon local pickup, our team will work directly with you to modify the digital design file and resolve the fitment issue.

  • Exclusion of Wear and Tear: Because cosplay props and artistic commissions are interactive items designed for handling, costuming, and convention use, we do not offer a lifetime warranty. This agreement does not cover structural or aesthetic damage caused by convention battle damage, accidental drops, cracks from handling, or paint scuffs sustained while wearing your prop at public events, photoshoots, or gatherings.

3. Parts 30-Day Limited Warranty & Refund Policy
For our mechanical components, structural replacement parts, and custom-engineered brackets, we prioritize maximum infill density and structural integrity to ensure they perform reliably under real-world conditions.

A. What is Covered
JH Prints warrants our functional 3D prints against material defects, printing de-lamination (where the extruded layers separate or split apart under normal use), and unforeseen structural failure under normal, intended operating conditions. This limited warranty is valid for exactly 30 days from the date of local pickup or delivery. If your component fails structurally due to an inherent manufacturing or calibration defect within this 30-day window, our team will gladly consult with you, adjust the source CAD file to strengthen weak points, and reprint the component to make it right.

B. What is Not Covered
This limited structural warranty is strictly voided by improper usage or environmental exposure. JH Prints explicitly excludes coverage for:

  • Damage caused by incorrect installation, mechanical forcing, or improper assembly.

  • Overloading, cross-threading, or applying directional stress well beyond the physical material limits of the plastic.

  • Environmental or thermal degradation, such as exposing standard PLA parts to high-ambient vehicle heat, direct Florida sunlight, or harsh chemical solvents.

  • Post-delivery modifications, including drilling, shaving, gluing, or painting the part after it has been picked up.

4. Custom Order Returns & Comprehensive Refund Policy
Every single piece leaving the JH Prints workshop is built explicitly to your unique parameters, color choices, and technical requirements. Because these products have no resale value to other clients, our return framework is strictly defined.

  • All Sales Are Final: Because custom 3D prints, specialized mechanical replacement parts, and hand-painted cosplay props are built explicitly to your unique specifications, we typically do not accept returns or offer automatic refunds once production has officially begun or the item has been delivered.

  • Our In-Person Commitment: We are real people who care about our clients and refuse to deliver cheap plastic junk. To ensure your complete satisfaction, we highly prefer local pickup or in-person meeting arrangements across the Tampa Bay FL, Spring Hill FL, Brooksville FL, and Wesley Chapel areas. This allows you to inspect your finished product face-to-face with us before final acceptance.

  • Damage Assessment Protocol: Despite our strict final sales policy, we want to treat our local community with total fairness. If your custom item breaks post-delivery, please contact us immediately or bring the part to an in-person meeting spot. Our team will personally assess the structural damage and debate a partial or full refund depending entirely on how it broke. If the failure was due to an internal printing error, we will take care of you; if it was caused by accidental abuse, we will work with you on an affordable re-print solution.
